Happy New Year! At HCA Healthcare, we hope 2016 will bring a year of firsts in health and medicine advances, breakthroughs and innovation. But first, let’s celebrate what the New Year has already delivered – life!

Meet a few of the first babies born in 2016 at HCA Healthcare facilities. For the second year in a row, the first baby of the new year in Las Vegas was born at our affiliate MountainView Hospital! There, they welcomed a 6 pound, 5 ounce baby boy at 12:04 a.m. on January 1. Meanwhile, OB/GYN staff at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Texas helped deliver a baby girl weighing 8 pounds and 5 ounces at 1:29 a.m. on New Year’s Day.

Kelly Costner, director of perinatal services at Cartersville, said in an interview with the Daily Tribune News, “There is an extra sense of excitement and promise that comes with delivering the first baby of the New Year.”

We couldn’t agree more. Welcome to the world, HCA Healthcare babies!
