Amazing Together: HCA Healthcare and March of Dimes Partner to Improve Health of Babies
Premature birth is the number one killer of babies. Those who survive can face a lifetime of serious health problems. That’s why HCA Healthcare has been a longtime supporter of the March of Dimes, the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health, to help ensure babies get a healthy start at life.
As a National Partner of March of Dimes, HCA Healthcare is excited to share that we are taking our commitment to healthy moms and babies to a new level in 2017. HCA Healthcare will give $1.5 million to the March of Dimes over three years, and up to another $1.5 million will be raised through March of Dimes fundraising events, such as March for Babies, held by HCA Healthcare-affiliated hospitals during that same time frame.
In addition to the financial donation, HCA Healthcare hospitals will offer the March of Dimes neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) Family Support Program. This program provides educational materials and support to families who have a newborn in intensive care as well as evidence-based training to caregivers to help improve communication and teamwork with NICU families.
HCA Healthcare takes pride in delivering nearly 220,000 babies a year – more than any healthcare provider in the country – and being a recognized leader in perinatal quality and safety. Our partnership with the March of Dimes reflects our collaborative research efforts and shared goals to make an even greater impact and give every baby a chance at life.
Thank you to our colleagues at more than 60 HCA Healthcare-affiliated hospitals who are already making a difference in the lives of moms and newborns through March for Babies walks in communities we serve across the country.
