HCA Healthcare Leadership Recognizes Employees, Accomplishments During Hospital Week

Today marks the beginning of National Hospital Week, a time to celebrate more than 230,000 HCA Healthcare employees, who every day pursue our mission of the care and improvement of human life.

This year’s Hospital Week theme, “Healthcare from the Heart,” is especially fitting for HCA Healthcare because our company was founded by physicians who believed that the best healthcare comes from the heart. By putting the patient’s experience at the center, HCA Healthcare employees provide the highest-quality care and, just as importantly, do so with compassion and kindness.

We are proud of HCA Healthcare’s 2015 accomplishments, and more so, that we accomplished them together. We served our diverse communities by delivering healthcare services in approximately 150 languages and dialects; supported 26 million patient encounters, including eight million emergency room visits and the births of 210,000 babies, and through Sarah Cannon, our global cancer institute, enrolled more than 2,000 people in potentially lifesaving clinical trials.

These numbers are impressive, yet as a leading provider of healthcare services, we strive to help even more people. By using the vast amount of clinical data through patient care, we have been able to identify fact-based practices that lead to new standards of care and ultimately save more lives.

HCA Healthcare succeeds because of its people. We’re so grateful to our physicians, nurses and other clinical staff, and to the thousands who support our caregivers, and to everyone who helps care for and improve the lives of our patients by providing healthcare from the heart.
