Veterans Make Their Mark at HCA Healthcare

One of the many issues facing our nation’s heroes and their families is the struggle of returning to and finding work as civilians. That’s why I’m proud to work for an organization that recognizes the unmatched skills and professionalism that our military veterans bring to the civilian workforce and provides the resources to actively recruit them for opportunities at HCA Healthcare.

As a veteran of the United States Air Force and HCA Healthcare’s military veteran and military spouse lead recruiter, I can attest to the fact that veterans, who may think the void of military life will be hard to fill, can find fellowship, a sense of service and the chance to work towards one common goal – the care and improvement of human life – at HCA Healthcare.

Military veterans account for a large part of our workforce with more than 37,000 heroes working in clinical and support roles throughout the organization. This year, me and other HCA Healthcare recruiters have attended numerous veterans’ job fairs to connect with veteran talent and help them discover civilian opportunities similar to the ones they just left – one of service.

Anthony Fleming, a U.S. Air Force veteran, is just one example of the many veterans who are now making a positive difference at HCA Healthcare. After serving his country for more than 20 years, Fleming, who believes the core values instilled in the Air Force – service before self and excellence in all that you do – also apply to the culture here at HCA Healthcare. He now leads the recruiting efforts for Sarah Cannon, the cancer institute of HCA Healthcare.

Hear Fleming’s message to those military veterans who are still looking for the right opportunity. If you are one of them, we salute you for your service and hope that you’ll consider continuing your career at HCA Healthcare!
