Every day, our approximately 320,000 colleagues help fulfill our mission to care for and improve human life. Across a network of 190 hospitals and approximately 2,500 additional sites of care, our physicians, nurses and colleagues deliver compassionate care to patients, elevate clinical quality and help shape the future of healthcare.
We are committed to caring for our colleagues like they care for our patients and each other, with purpose and compassion. That is why HCA Healthcare offers comprehensive benefits to support colleagues’ health, life, career and retirement.
From help with everyday needs to resources that support long-term goals, HCA Healthcare benefits are designed to meet colleagues where they are in life and help them prepare for what comes next.
Caring for your well-being
To support the well-being of our colleagues, we offer multiple medical plan options so colleagues can choose coverage that works best for their needs.
Beyond medical coverage, eligible colleagues can choose dental and vision coverage, life and disability benefits and supplemental health protection plans that offer financial support following an accident, critical illness or hospitalization. Added voluntary benefits and protection plans give colleagues even more ways to tailor their benefits to their lives.
Doctor On Demand
Under most HCA Healthcare medical plans, colleagues have 24/7 access to free medical and behavioral health visits through Doctor On Demand telemedicine.
AirMed medical transport
Healthcare needs do not always happen close to home. Colleagues enrolled in an eligible medical plan have access to AirMed medical transport at no cost when they or another covered dependent is hospitalized more than 150 miles from home and need to be transferred to an HCA Healthcare facility.
Emotional support resources
Mental and emotional health are important parts of overall well-being. HCA Healthcare colleagues and their household members have access to free, confidential counseling, as well as behavioral health services and family support resources.
For some of the everyday demands that can add stress, Optum WorkLife advisors can also help colleagues find vetted resources for needs such as childcare, parenting support, eldercare, education programs, home and auto services and support related to chronic illness.
Full-time and part-time hospital-based nurses also have access to Nurse Care, which specializes in counseling for caregivers.
Together, these resources are designed to make it easier for colleagues to find help — whether they are navigating a major life challenge or simply trying to manage a busy week.
Taking time away from work
When life happens, time away from work can be essential for rest, recovery or to care for loved ones. HCA Healthcare’s Time Away From Work Program includes paid time off, paid family leave, disability coverage and leaves of absence for eligible colleagues.
Our Paid Family Leave benefit allows eligible colleagues up to 14 calendar days a year to care for a loved one with a serious health condition or bond with a new child. The time can be used to extend a maternity leave, allow a father time to bond with a new baby, give an adoptive parent time to welcome their new child or support a caregiver as they assist in their family member’s recovery.
With an easy-to-use online tool and expert advisors a phone call away, the Time Away From Work Service Center helps colleagues understand all the benefits and leave programs available to them and how to navigate applicable requirements.

That includes free coaching with a Progyny Patient Care Advocate and virtual visits with clinicians trained in perimenopause and menopause care. Benefits can help address what colleagues need today, but they can also help prepare for tomorrow. HCA Healthcare offers programs designed to support long-term financial well-being, career development and educational goals for colleagues and their families.

Supporting causes that colleagues care about
Our charitable giving and volunteering programs encourage colleagues to serve the communities they call home by helping their personal contributions make the biggest impact.
Colleagues can turn time spent volunteering into donations through Care Cards. For every 10 hours of eligible volunteer service logged, colleagues can unlock $200 for a charity of their choice, up to $1,000 each calendar year.
When a colleague makes a qualifying donation of at least $25 to an eligible charity, HCA Healthcare can match that donation up to $500 each calendar year. The organization will also match up to $500 in colleague contributions to the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund, an employee-supported, employee-run nonprofit that helps HCA Healthcare colleagues and their families during times of hardship.

After Hurricanes Helene and Milton left her family displaced, Maria Cabric, who works in ER registration at HCA Florida Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, turned to the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund for help. Within days, assistance from the Hope Fund helped cover the deposit and first month’s rent for a new apartment, giving her family a safe place to begin again. “I can’t express how grateful I am,” Maria shared. She is one of more than 52,000 HCA Healthcare colleagues and their immediate families who have received support from the Hope Fund during challenges such as disasters, extended illness or injury, domestic violence and the loss of a loved one.
