National Hospital Week and National Nurses Week is a time for us to celebrate the positive impact we’ve had on the health and wellbeing of our communities and to recognize you, the people who make it all possible.
Since our founding nearly 50 years ago, we have pursued a vision of healthcare the way it was intended – patient-centered, constantly evolving and improving, and practiced with integrity and compassion. Making this vision a reality requires significant teamwork among our 241,000 employees spread across hundreds of facilities in 20 U.S. states and the United Kingdom.
Through the years, we’ve traveled to hospitals, urgent care clinics, surgery centers and physician offices, and met with thousands of employees. We’ve seen firsthand the pride, dedication and focus you have on giving those we care for the best possible care with the best possible patient experience.
In 2016, we had the opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to the care and improvement of human life more than 27 million times. And behind each of these patient encounters was a dedicated team of nurses, physicians and other caregivers, as well as support staff and administrators, all working together and delivering their best for the benefit of our patients.
