Digital healthcare: MyHealthONE reaches 1 million patient milestone

More than one million patients, consumers and caregivers have decided to connect with us through our online hospital patient portal known as MyHealthONE. Serving 1 million patients with this foundational digital healthcare portal signifies a tremendous accomplishment that deserves much celebration.

MyHealthONE connects patients to healthcare

The vision for MyHealthONE began six years ago with an initial business case.

“MyHealthONE has been a significant, internal development effort that is providing patients a number of features to help them manage their own healthcare services from the convenience of their mobile device or computer,” said Marty Paslick, HCA Healthcare Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer.

Today an online patient portal is something patients, consumers and caregivers expect. Our culture is on-the-go and individuals are looking for ways to connect online. MyHealthONE connects them to their healthcare securely – no matter where they are.

Whether a patient is having a baby at an HCA Healthcare hospital in California, goes to the ER in Florida, or gets an x-ray in Virginia, MyHealthONE follows them and provides them access to their entire healthcare history.

When a patient is discharged, our connection with the patient can continue through MyHealthONE. Care teams have a way to provide information to patients online before, during and after encounters.

“As we have reached major milestones in the launching and adoption of our consumer and patient-facing portal MyHealthONE, we are ultimately changing the way HCA Healthcare facilities interface with patients, giving them more direct, more meaningful control of their care,” said Dr. Jonathan Perlin, President, Clinical Services and Chief Medical Officer.

So what’s next?

While reaching this milestone is significant, studies of how patients are actually using MyHealthONE are fueling plans for enhancements.

“We are eager to explore what’s next when it comes to a mobile app for MyHealthONE. As we undertake a journey towards mobile, our goal is to provide a seamless connection to all online assets. We are looking at how to take advantage of features native to mobile devices, and we want to be intentional as we integrate with the larger mobile ecosystem,” said Danny Schunk, IT&S Vice President of Service Lines and Corporate Solutions.
