“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’”

HCA Healthcare colleagues have long been inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s mission to bridge barriers through giving and volunteerism. Our organization was founded on these principles that have been a part of our culture for more than 50 years. And, as the country honors the birth and achievements of the late reverend, we at HCA Healthcare help honor his legacy today and every day by committing to acts of service for the communities we are privileged to serve.

Our organization’s philanthropic arm, the HCA Healthcare Foundation, empowers colleagues to provide leadership, service and financial support to non-profit organizations. When it comes to our own HCA Healthcare family, we also serve each other through the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund, which exists to support colleagues in need nationally.

“Be happy in your community. Be active.

There is so much good to do in this world and so many different ways to do it.”

–HCA Healthcare co-founder Dr. Thomas F. Frist, Sr.

Commit this MLK Day

Our colleagues have selflessly served at nursing homes, animal shelters, overseas missions, food banks and libraries. When thinking about where to volunteer on MLK Day, it doesn’t matter where you show up. What matters is that you show up and make a difference.
