Sometimes, amazing things happen on New Year’s Day. A fresh start…a different perspective…or renewed hope in the form of a new baby!

For some proud parents, 2017 has already been a milestone year, as they welcomed newborns and the first babies of the new year at HCA Healthcare-affiliated hospitals across the nation. And as one of the largest providers of children’s care in the country, celebrating the lives of our youngest patients, and their parents, well, that’s just Amazing Together℠.

Meet our 2017 New Year’s Babies!

Baby Geneva Ruth Bowling holds the title as the first birth in Austin, Texas! She was born at the stroke of midnight on January 1, 2017 at St. David’s North Austin Medical Center. She weighed 8 pounds, 14 ounces.

Proud parents Ashley and Robert Bowling with baby Geneva Ruth.  Geneva joins big brother Jeremiah, who was also delivered at St. David’s North Austin. 

Frida Carillo was born at 12:07 a.m. on January 1 at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas at West Houston. She weighed 6 pounds.

Parents Myra Salerno and Marco Carrillo celebrated the new year with the birth of their third child, Frida Carillo

Karim Naboulsi was the first baby born at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas in Houston in the New Year. He was born at 12:09 a.m. on January 1, and weighed 7 pounds and 3 ounces.

Zain Sanjak and her husband Omar Naboulsi welcome their son Karim into the world at The Woman’s Hospital of Texas, which is celebrating its 40-year anniversary. 

Rylin Zyairah Davis was born at 12:27 a.m. on January 1 at Sunrise Children’s Hospital in Las Vegas. She was 6 pounds and 12 ounces.

First-time mom Joslind Nathan and dad Ryan Davis proudly pose with their daughter and New Year’s baby Rylin. 

Ogden Regional Medical Center in Utah welcomed the birth of Luis Gerardo Reyna at 1:01 a.m. on January 1. He was 7 pounds, 3 ounces.

Baby Luis Gerardo is pictured with proud parents Luis and Irene Reyna and his big sister. The family resides in Ogden, Utah. 

Erik Leonardo Guzman was born at 1:47 a.m. on New Year’s Day at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center in Houston. He was 7 pounds and 9 ounces.

Ellis Erik and Crystal Guzman welcome newborn Houstonian Erik Leonardo Guzman on New Year’s Day. Baby Erik also has a brother and sister who are eager to meet him. 

The HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast, Mountain and Far West Division hospitals, as well as St. David’s Healthcare, an affiliate of HCA Healthcare, were represented in this 2017 New Year’s baby edition.
