Two HCA Healthcare Hospitals Make Headlines for Delivering Twins in Different Years

Twins. They often look alike, sometimes dress the same, and of course, share the same birthday – except when they don’t.  Two HCA Healthcare-affiliated hospitals saw the rare moment when two sets of twins were born on different days and different years!

Oak Hill Hospital in Florida helped deliver twins Yullianna and her brother Zane at 11:43 p.m. on December 31, 2016 and 12:01 a.m. on January 1, 2017, respectively.

Meanwhile, our North Texas affiliate, Medical City Arlington, helped welcomed twin boys Jordan Jeremy by natural birth at 11:46 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and J’aiden Michael Sanchez via c-section at 12:12 a.m. on New Year’s Day, earning him the honor of being the first baby born at the hospital in 2017.

Approximately, 225,000 babies are born at HCA Healthcare-affiliated hospitals each year. But the likelihood of a pair of twins born in 2016 and 2017 at two of our hospitals? That’s one-in-a-million.

Oddly, this rare event also occurred with twin births outside of the HCA Healthcare hospital system in Georgia, California and Arizona this New Year.

The special set of twins born at Oak Hill Hospital and Medical City Arlington will always have this unique experience, each other, their “twintuition,” and the one thing they won’t have to share – a birthday!

The mom who gave birth to multiples in 2016 and 2017 at Oak Hill Hospital recounts here story here.
