HCA Healthcare is proud to be one of the largest employers of nurses in the country, with more than 93,000 nurses throughout our organization committed to raising the bar for healthcare. These extraordinary individuals are vital frontline workers, displaying courage, care and commitment to their patients every day. As we pause to celebrate National Nurses Week 2021, we thank our nurses for their unwavering care and dedication – particularly over the last year. In recognition of this annual observance, Sam Hazen, chief executive officer at HCA Healthcare and Jane Englebright, senior vice president and chief nurse executive at HCA Healthcare, share a message of gratitude to nurses.

This week, we celebrate all nurses at HCA Healthcare, both at the bedside and those working to support them. Each of you is raising the bar in new ways, creating strong teams and working in service to others. It is your passion and hard work that will help us shape the future of healthcare.

The International Council of Nurses’ theme for Nurses Week is “Nurses: A Voice to Lead.”  This year – more than ever – we are looking to your voices and ideas for innovations and improvements to elevate nursing practice and define what it means to provide compassionate, connected care.

We see your passion to comfort and desire to care and are filled with gratitude and humbled to work for you and alongside you every day.

Thank you for living out the HCA Healthcare mission and ensuring healthier tomorrows for our colleagues and our patients.

Sincerely,

Sam Hazen, Chief Executive Officer
