Today is World Cancer Day, a day to honor and inspire the more than 15.5 million survivors across the country. Sarah Cannon, the Cancer Institute of HCA Healthcare, is encouraging readers to take action by supporting people facing cancer today through its Letter To Me initiative from Band Against Cancer.

Cancer affects us all, and so often it is hard to know how you can help. Whether it has hit your family, friends, colleagues or neighbors, your stories are powerful. And by sharing them in a Letter to Me, you are supporting a movement that encourages and empowers cancer warriors and caregivers during their battle.

Today, Sarah Cannon shared a video featuring Country artists, colleagues, leaders and more, all reading a Letter to Me for warriors facing cancer. This video is a powerful example of the impact your words and stories can have on warriors and caregivers touched by cancer today.

HCA Healthcare internal audience can view the video here.

How You Can Help On World Cancer Day

There are many ways that you can participate in Letter to Me this World Cancer Day:

  • Share Sarah Cannon’s video on social media, and encourage your friends and family to submit their Letter To Me.
  • Share the one thing you would say to someone facing cancer on social media, using the hashtags #LetterToMe & #WorldCancerDay
  • Write a Letter to Me at BandAgainstCancer.com/LetterToMe, and post a video reading your letter on social media, using the hashtags #LetterToMe & #WorldCancerDay

There is strength in numbers and power in a band. The more members of the band, the louder we can be heard in the fight against cancer!
